Cassandra,
 
We need to write a one to two page proposal to do a research project that
would result in a paper whereby the project could be done by the end of the
first week of September, and would involve me, you, and one other faculty
member at the University not in the Biology department.  I have about six ideas
but I’ve also got a hot date so I won’t be working on it tonight much, but I wanted
to give you the heads up.
 
We get say 2-3000 funding for you, which we “match” with what I’ve already
set aside for your work on the textbook.  We would deal with issues such as how
to spend this money and how to deal with overlapping time slots for funding,
etc., later.
 
There is not a guarantee that we will get this money.  But we will.
 
So start thinking about it!

The RFP has not been written yet.
